So yeah, I got my first tablet the other day and it's been a swell little adventure getting used to it. It'll be a long time 'fore I really get the hang of it, but I'm getting there.

Nyeh...

I'm kinda in a funk about DA. On one side, I love posting my art here and getting feedback. On the other, I hate posting my art here when I never really GET any feedback. I want constructive criticism that I don't get. I get it from my few watchers, but even then I don't get that much. DA's just becoming one of those hassles in my life, where I want to post but don't see a point when my art work just becomes one piece in millions and very few people end up even looking at it.

Le sigh.

Don't get me wrong. I love DA. It's a great site. It used to be a great source for CC for my work. But what I hate is that I see tons of great work out there that gets overlooked in favor of artists who have already recieved DD awards. Didn't there used to be an "unknowns" project or something where DA highlighted the lesser known artists in hopes of getting them viewers? What ever happened to that? I thought it was an awesome idea! I saw so many pieces of art work that I probably never would have found otherwise!

I have a mission for everybody.

I want you all to go to the search box at the top of the page, and I want you to type in just a random word, the first word off the top of your head. When your search results come up, don't click to view them by the most popular. For once, try viewing them by the most recent. I want you to scroll through all those pieces of art work and randomly select some and give those people some good old-fashioned constructive criticism. And don't just "randomly" pick out the best ones you see. Close your eyes, "click", and then review whatever you pick up. Even if you really don't like it, tell the artist something positive and then think of a way the artist can improve. Believe me; you'll probably help more than you think.

If you think this is an awesome idea, post it in your journal, too. Spread the DA LOVE!

Yup. I've been! I'm working on quite a few drawings; I just don't have the means of posting them quite yet.

-Three part Medusa drawing- my favorite and still currently working on it.
-Dancing Chick- three doodles I'm still working on of this chick whose face is hidden while she does a weird little dance.
-Naked & Blue- A sketch in blue colored pencile of a girl laying on a bed, nekkid.
-Orchid- an oil pastel of a blue orchid
-Bluraaaaagh!- a small abstract painting without a name, reminiscent of "Dirty Window" but... pinkish-er...
-Various other small not-quite-worth-mentioning ones-

Oh, and in other news... I sprained my ankle this past Saturday and am on the mend... unfortunately I didn't have the excuse of being drunk, and I was just being my own retarded self when said event occured. Also unfortunate is the fact that I won't be able to rock out on the DDR when I go home for spring break on Saturday, because of said ankle... it's a cruel, cruel world. Le sigh.

In other, other news, over spring break I'll be filing my tax return and getting money! Yay! Then I can afford my first ever Wacom tablet! Yay! And maybe a digital camera and an external hard drive! Yay!

...

Yay!

:)

So. I'm up in Chicagoland. It's joyous. It's dramatic. It's bitchy. It's whiny. All in all... it's a pretty good time.
